Lower the Nets – Liturgy of the Eucharist
Intro – February – hearts, Mardi gras, love and celebration – perfect for Eucharist!
Importance of Mass in your family
Students in the school and CCD are taught the Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life
Baptism consecrates you (sets apart) for priesthood (praise of God) which finds its fulfillment in the Mass
Invitation to go to Mass
We must change our schedule and prioritize to live this reality, but is not this what God does? Change our lives?
Prayer over offering
Words all about changing what is natural into divine.
We prepare to offer ourselves too. Our goal is to ‘place’ ourselves on the altar too.
Eucharistic prayer
These are in entrance into Jesus’ prayer to the Father at the Last Supper. The prayers are offered on our behalf by the Priest in Persona Christ.
This is why you’ve maybe see Mass offered Ad Orientem…the priest isn’t talking to us but to the Father
This is also why the Eucharistic Prayer can be said silent other than the word of institution
They encapsulate the inner dynamic, conversation, and desires of God.
Eucharistic Prayer 4 retells all of the history of Salvation, it is soaked with Scripture. For when the hour had come for him to be glorified by you, Father most holy, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end
Memorial Acclamation
One of the most solemn parts of the Mass because it is a strong reminder of what we participate in by what we proclaim and participate in.
We shouldn’t lose sight that it is a call and response. We should marvel at this ‘Mystery of Faith’ which is said by the Priest.
Great Amen
Let it be done unto me according to your word. We enter into Jesus’ prayer and are prepared to follow after Him.
Literally, we prepare to become one with Him as we are divinized by the Eucharist.
Offering the Lamb for the whole world (Fr. Gaitly)
Our yes to participation in His sacrifice
Conclusion
Bow head at the Name of Jesus, Mary, and Saint of the Day. It is Training for active listening.
Respond with force at the Great Amen!
Thank you to the generous artists at Uppbeat who've provided music for our intro and outro.

In this month's episode, Sr. Fiat Marie and Blake reflect on how the Creed bridges the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist as well as how the Offertory Rite prepares us for deeper communion with the Trinity. The Creed & Offertory Rite
January Podcast outline
Introduction
Creed as a Bridge
The Shema is the first Creedal statement of our Faith.
It is the same creed that Jesus would have known and that he even highlights when asked what is the greatest commandment. With the full revelation of God in the Person of Jesus Christ, his words, and actions the Creed becomes fuller as we encounter the person of Jesus Christ.
The Catechism states, “We do not believe in formulas, but in those realities they express, which faith allows us to touch. The believer's act [of faith] does not terminate in the propositions, but in the realities [which they express]." (CCC 170).
Our worship and encounters with the Living God through Scripture and His witnesses change belief and those beliefs change our actions.
Intercessions
In the Universal Prayer or Prayer of the Faithful, the people respond in some sense to the Word of God which they have received in faith and, exercising the office of their baptismal Priesthood, offer prayers to God for the salvation of all. It is desirable that there usuallsy be such a form of prayer in Masses celebrated with the people, so that petitions may be offered for holy Church, for those who govern with authority over us, for those weighed down by various needs, for all humanity, and for the salvation of the whole world.

December Podcast: Liturgy of the Word
Introduction & Banter
The Liturgy of the Word
The profound meaning that even lies in the name of this part of the Mass Word
Liturgy – worshiping together in formal way
Word – Listening to God speak
Mind of the Church in organizing the readings
The conversation between readings
1st Reading & Psalm / 1st Reading & Gospel / 2nd Reading Sequential
Encourage to take time with readings given by Church
The readings are not always what we would pick out…we can unknowingly create our “own Jesus” by only reading certain part of Bible or not reading on only thinking of Jesus removed from revelation.
When we encounter those reading that we love and those that make up scratch our head…we are invited into encounter with a real person – Jesus, who is God
Also, be encouraged that this is prayer – to relate our questions, stirrings of our heart, struggles is most authentic prayer AND as wise Mother the Church gives us reading to lead us to the Word
Practices for listening
So faith comes through hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
The Scriptures are meant to be proclaimed and heard
Expect to the Holy Spirit to speak
Listen to the word, phrase, or idea that captures your attention
Lower the Nets ChallengeAsk children to help you remember to prep for Mass by reading the Sunday readings before going to Mass (pick a time of day and make a schedule)
Take time on Sunday to talk about Mass after you have gone
Closing: Advent and Christmas season choose one thing
